Recently, there has been a lot of talk about black celebrity figures hating on dark-skineed women and girls. From people making rachet comments about Snoop Dog's little Godiva drop to Lil Wayne proclaiming "light is right" there has been so much self-hatred. This is so bothersome to me. Why don't "We" understand that taking care of our own is where it's at? I'm not sure if we'll ever do better but I'm certain we need to!!!
For many black women we learned very early that there was an attack on little black girls. This attack was a sneak attack because it's vehicle was our own mothers! Now, our mothers certainly didn't mean to do us harm; they love us! But one loving daily act easily turned into sheer itchy horror for us little black girls...bath time. Stay with me now. Again, the culprit was not really our mothers, it was this fucker....
