WHAT IN THE HOT MESS WAS THAT???

Last month my boyfriend gave me one of the best presents ever; tickets to see Lauryn Hill live at the House of Blues in Atlantic City!! In anticipation of the show, I let my birthday come and go with out much fanfare. I mean, I was going to see Ms. Hill tear the stage up! I ignored the recent press and 10 days after my birthday took the short drive to AC with my boo to see the living legend live. All I can say is the show was...

SOME BABY BACKED BULL SHIT!!!! The show was supposed to start at 9:00 pm and with no opening act, I expected her to be on stage by 10:30 at the latest. But noooooooo Ms. Hill put on her divatude and decided not to grace us with her presence until well after MIDNIGHT (yes, the caps means I'm yelling)!

I was still holding out hope after being forced to endure DJ Diamond Cutz for way too long (no dis Ms. Cutz was just ready to se my girl) when the lights dimmed and the foolishness ensued.



No apologies for making us wait, crazy fast arrangements on every song, her kids on stage (that aint cute to everybody hun), all in all just too much mess to go into. In the future I will just remember her as she was.

    Girl, I was hoping you'd get a good show outta Lauryn, and that she would be connected to reality again--I miss real talent in the music industry.

    Ok, this is my theory, but I truly do think that Rohan Marley put some ju-ju on her (ju-ju is a word I got from an older woman; it describes any type of voodoo, roots, or black magic). She just doesn't seem "aware." She often refers to Rohan as her husband, but he seems to be comfortable parading outside relationships publicly. Now granted, I hear that she had a relationship w/ Wyclef while he was married, if this is true, sharing a man may not be a novel experience for her. However, there's something about her devotion to him that seems above and beyond, even for women who are involved in those kinds of relationships. The fact that she abandoned her career & just can't seem to get it together is puzzling, although Rohan doesn't seem to have a problem living life. Also, doesn't she just look bonkers when she performs, physically (make-up, attire) & mentally--she just doesn't seem to be connected to reality.

    Curious minds want to know, what world is she living in now, & how did she get there? Did Rohan help her on her journey to insanity? Did he put something in her food? Inquiring minds want to know.
